Week Six Overview
Goals for the Week
- Apply concepts learned throughout the course to a Web page
- Select an existing Web page to apply what we have learned in the
class. Convert the page using concepts learned during the
class. Page must include:
- Valid (X)HTML and CSS
- Consistent styles
- Liquid design
- Hyperlink and menu styles
- Separate print styles
- Multicolumn layout

- Week six discussions and exercises cover:
- Converting (reconstructing) an existing page using CSS
- Project 1, Converting an Existing Page, Eric Meyer on CSS
- Application of concepts from the entire class to a final project,
which requires conversion of an existing Web page using CSS techniques
learned during the first five weeks of the class
- Peer reviews
Assignments
- Read the assigned online reading and project 1 from Eric Meyer on CSS
- Participate in week six discussions
- Complete the final project, the conversion of an existing Web page, to include:
- Valid (X)HTML and CSS
- Consistent styles
- Liquid design
- Hyperlink and menu styles
- Separate print styles
- Multicolumn layout
- Provide links to before and after Web pages for final project
- Do assigned peer reviews
