Intermediate CSS Workshop

Grading Procedures

Pass / Fail

This workshop is graded on a pass/fail basis. If you participate and complete the assigned work and peer reviws each week, you will pass the course. Since the idea behind the workshop is to practice and apply CSS, class participation is very important. This is your opportunity to share your ideas, problem solve with each other, and have fun. :) In addition to the weekly project assignments, peer reviews will be required and will enhance the learning process. The quizzes posted each week are optional.

So what must you do to pass each week of the course? The following:

  • Complete the weekly project assignment.

  • Write and post your assigned peer reviews sometime during the week following the current week's posts.

  • Try the quiz. Essentially, demonstrate that you put at least a little effort into the practice quiz. The quiz answer key will be posted on Saturday.

Huh? The practice quiz is straightforward. It's for you to practice the concepts of the week - not graded and not "required," but we do strongly encourage you to "work" the quiz questions. The project assignment works just like projects in many other classes. For example, in week one, I will post the class materials on Sunday. You will then have until Saturday to "work" the week one practice quiz. The answer key will be posted on Saturday. And you'll have until the next Sunday to complete and post your week one project. Then, your peer reviews for week one, which will be assigned separately, will be due a week after that. You must complete the project and the peer reviews to pass each week and the course.

Peer Reviews.Peer reviews will be explained separately. You'll be asked to complete a short review of the projects of two classmates each week of the class.
